Tuning Lesson

Lessons are offered by appointment only with a choice of two time slots, either a 9.30am start or a 1.30pm start, on either a Saturday or Sunday.

The lesson comprises of us tuning your own skis/board together, covering all the different work elements. Any element not required on your own skis/board (ie base repairs) will be covered on shop skis. It takes 3-3.5 hours to cover everything & you'll be doing at least half of the work so come in your work clothes as the diamond cutting fluid & wax will be flying! Only one pair of skis or one board can be tuned during the lesson. If you don't yet have your own skis/board then we can work on mine.

The cost of the lesson is £45.00 plus the cost of either my #2 or #3 tune to your skis/board. See the 'Ski & Board Tuning Options' section for a description of each of the tunes. The cost is for a maximum of 2 attendees as there's not sufficient 'hands on' work for more people than that, plus the work area gets a bit crowded.

Apart from learning the obvious 'how & why', the lesson also enables new DIY tuners to handle & use all the various tools to enable an informed purchasing decision to be made. Many people therefore delay making their choice of which tuning equipment to purchase until the end of their lesson & then purchase the tools to suit their specific performance requirements, time & budget etc. All items are stocked to enable customers to take their selected tools away with them.

During the season lessons tend to be booked up 6-8 weeks in advance so it's recommended to reserve a date as early as possible. The off-season weeks can be surpisingly busy but normally a date can be arranged within a few weeks.

Payment is accepted by either cheque/cash on the day or by electronic transfer/Paypal in advance.
